Antwerp before lunch

Before i begin, i have to say i'm really sad, i lost some of the pics from my phone :( coz my there wasn't enough space on my memory stick, so i saved them to my phone memory, but long story short i think i accidentally deleted all the pictures.. so some of the after lunch pictures will be missing :( anyway

sunny saturday, perfect for Antwerp-ing :) this is the statue/icon thing of Leuven (me thinks, at least that's the impression i get), and someone took the liberty of dressing him up, i suppose in response to how someone dressed up the Mannekin Pis of Brussels (maybe, maybe not; dressing a statue up is i guess quite instinctive in a not very instinctive way).. pic of Mannekin Pis coming up in post(s) about Brussels.. that person who dressed up Mannekin Pis apparently did it 300 or 700 plus times or smth.. sorry i guess this anecdote-thing's not very credible, but there's no doubting the 700plus costumes that the museum in Brussels has.. yeah i checked out the one of Singapore too, well let's just say i don't think it's very representative of Singapore.. think ancient Chinese warrior costume, yeah that's it

front seat, cockpit hospitable driver in an old train that he likens to a toy, and arrivel at Antwerp Central.. Antwerp Central station is supposed to be one of the nicest train stations in the world..

Antwerp Central station, Saturday morning, 11ish

learnt about it in Flemish Art too, Antwerp and Bruges used to be areas where the Flemish art was being traded and developed and all

Mekanik, the largest comic shop in Europe apparently.. don't judge the store by the outside..

(me hiding coz i didn't know if photography was allowed)

.. coz on the inside, it big, and it cooool

second floor

yes that's a wolf!
"but don't be scared, it tame, it belong to kind man"

oh i really wanted to go see the Antwerp zoo by the way.. or at least the free giraffes where you can see from somewhere, the zoo's expensive.. but has been there since 19th century (i think)! man
art and Antwerp go hand in hand

lunch at a place where the cooks were trainees.. was a good lunch, soup for starter, and main of fish, with potatoes on the side
